FORMER Dynamos chairman, Isaiah Mupfurutsa, has resurfaced at Simba Bhora in the same capacity.
The club’s leadership told H-Metro that Mupfurutsa is the debutant Premier Soccer League club’s new chairman.
“We have settled for Mupfurutsa as the club’s new chairman,” said a club official.
The Shamva-based side is the second club he has led since first venturing into football administration at Dynamos in 2018.
His stay at Dynamos did not yield the intended results, and a huge section of the Glamour Boys’ fans were relieved when he was ousted.
Mupfurutsa left Dynamos without any silverware and Simba Bhora fans will be eager to see the difference he will bring to the table.
Simba Bhora were called “mini-CAPS United” due to their seeming obsession with former Green Machine players.
They had over 10 ex-Makepekepe troops in the squad that won the ZIFA Northern Region Division One League last season.
But it appears that affection towards the green army has changed and they are now going blue.
Mupfurutsa’s appointment sees him reuniting with former DeMbare coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, former captain, Partson Jaure, and Keith Murera.
It means the miners have acquired the entire ex-Dynamos’ leadership from chairman to coach and captain.
Ironically, Simba Bhora are yet to bring in any former CAPS United player to their stable, which is an indication that the club’s owner, Simba “Buju” Ndoro, is honouring the coach’s wishlist.
Another former Glamour Boys’ midfielder, Blessing Moyo, who was shown the door following a misunderstanding with FC Platinum coach, Norman Mapeza, has also joined Simba Bhora.
More Dynamos players from the list of players who were deemed excess baggage are reported to be on their way to Simba Bhora.
However, it is still not known if the club’s midfielder, Ronald Chitiyo, will continue with the club.
The enterprising midfielder is yet to turn up at the training ground and Ndiraya is believed to be losing patience.
Simba Bhora have also parted ways with Rafael Manuvire, Honey Chimutimunzeve, Hardlife Zvirekwi and skipper, Brighton Tuwaya.
Arthur Tutani, who coached the team to the Premiership last season, has been retained as Ndiraya’s assistant together with Paul Chimalizeni.
But, there’re circulating rumours that Tutani might jump ship to join Northern Region side, MWOS FC.
