The rebranded Northern Region First Division outfit that has stormed the transfer market and raided some of the biggest names in local football, added the 2007 Soccer Star of the Year onto their books on Wednesday.
Murape has been the main searching light in Dynamos operations on the field, a utility player comfortable both in attack and midfield who is at his best when rallying teammates to raise their game when the chips are down.
“We can confirm that negotiations with Murape Murape have been successful and we have signed him on,” said Highfield United proprietor Nkululeko Sibanda.
Sibanda’s corporate firm, Twalumba Holdings, acquired the franchise of the Highfield-based Division One club at the beginning of the year and immediately set about to replenish their arsenal.
And they did so with a bang after capturing the country’s most celebrated footballer, Peter Ndlovu (38), on his return to the pitch having last turned out for Thanda Royal Zulu in South Africa in 2009.
The former English-based striker was immediately loaned to Premier Soccer League side Black Mambas.
Ndlovu was joined by high-profile Dynamos winger Benjamin Marere and Warriors first-choice goalkeeper Washington Arubi in the new line-up which also attracted Highlanders striker Protasho Kabwe.
By yesterday it was not possible to get finer details on Murape’s move from the Twalumba Holdings executive chairman or Zivanai “Zifa” Chiyangwa, who was appointed the Highfield United chairman.-The Sunday Mail
