TWO men from Tsholotsho allegedly fatally stabbed a fellow Zimbabwean at a beer drink in Tembisa, Johannesburg, and engaged the services of an inyanga in an attempt to conceal the crime.
The murder took place last week and the two alleged killers-Casper Tshuma and Clever Khiwa Fuyana from Jimila Line under Chief Matupula are on the run. It is alleged that Tshuma and Fuyana, who were based in Tembisa, allegedly stabbed SaBobo with a knife over an undisclosed issue while at a beer drink.
The Chronicle was told that Tshuma and Fuyana went into hiding after the family of the deceased, only identified as SaBobo threatened to dump the body at their door-step in the neighbouring country.
The murder took place at the alleged killers’ place of residence where they were drinking beer with the deceased. Chief Matupula confirmed the incident but said he was yet to get details.
A witness who preferred to be identified as Sifelani and was the one who alerted villagers in Jimila Line, said Fuyana and Tshuma invited an inyanga to the murder scene to perform some rituals soon after killing SaBobo.
“We witnessed something very strange when the two men stabbed their friend at a beer drink and fled. Khiwa looked for an inyanga who went to the murder scene and performed some strange things.
“The inyanga, who was decorated with beads all over his body, went through the crowd of mourners and knocked on Khiwa’s door. From Khiwa’s room he went straight to where the body was lying and started performing some rituals. This is when everyone charged at him demanding to know what he was doing,” said Sifelani.
He said the inyanga then claimed that he was on his way to church and had come to the scene to collect his gown he had forgotten on Khiwa’s bed.
Jimila Line village head Mr Michael Moyo said: “We received some sad news that Casper Tshuma and Clever Fuyana from this village stabbed a man in South Africa. The whereabouts of the two are not known and today we heard that the family of the deceased wanted to dump the body at their place of residence there in South Africa.”
It could not be established yesterday whether the deceased’s family had finally taken the body for burial.— @nonsy_m
