Murudzwa’s ‘Breakthrough’ set for official launch

Liberty Dube Entertainment Correspondent —
GOSPEL sensation, Agatha Murudzwa, who released her 10th project, “Breakthrough” in September last year will next month officially launch the album to her fans across the country and beyond.

The silky-voiced singer revealed that the album will be distributed to listeners on and after the launch ceremony which is likely to be held in Rusape just like last year’s event. She also vowed to release another album before end of the year.

“So far I distributed the CDs to radio stations for airplay. Listeners will acquire the project on the album launch which will be held next month. I also have a lot in store for my fans across the country this year. We will keep pressing on. We will keep preaching the gospel of God through music. I believe my fans will love my new project. The launch will be bigger and better than last year’s since we will be inviting more artistes to be part of the event,” said the diva who is now based in Rusape.

“Breakthrough” carries nine tracks which include “Zvaakatirongera”, “Peace Prayer”, “Jehovah Oh God” and “Mwari Vanogona”.

The song, “Peace Prayer” has become an instant hit and has been receiving rave reviews on several radio stations such as Diamond FM.

“We will commence live shows and embark on a countrywide tour to market the new album. The album carries messages of peace, hope and love. I urge all Zimbabweans to collectively work towards maintaining peace and love each other like brothers and sisters. We should also pin our hope and trust on God and surrender all our burdens to Him,” she added. Murudzwa has carved a niche for herself in the gospel industry and has emerged as one of the most consistent artistes in the country. She has nine albums to date which are “Fambai Neni”, “Ndimi Mwari”, Ityai Muwari, “Mwari Anotiona”, “Hupenyu Hwangu”, “Press On, No Pain, No gain” and “Grace Period”.

She features on rising sungura musician, Brian Samaita’s hit song, “Jerusarema”, off his new album, “Kumazivandadzoka” released late last year.
