CAPS United captain Godknows Murwira hailed the team’s stunning turnaround against Highlanders at Rufaro on Sunday as a memorable feat.
After facing a 2-0 first half deficit, William Manondo, Junior Bunjira, and Lot Chiwunga scored for CAPS United to clinch a 3-2 comeback win.
CAPS United has reversed its season slump, currently enjoying a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
CAPS United are now in seventh position with 39 points.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sport, Murwira said:
“I am happy to be part of this great comeback.
“It’s a memory that will live forever and as a player, you cherish such moments forever.
“It was not just a normal comeback but against an equally competent rival with a bit of history to it as it illuminates city rivalry.
Murwira says it’s good to see the team pulling in the same direction and fighting for a common goal. He said they are now focused on their upcoming games as they seek to continue with their unbeaten run.
CAPS United will be facing Ngezi Platinum away in the Chibuku Super Cup at Baobab on Saturday.
“Highlanders are one of the biggest teams on the local scene and staging a big comeback against them is equally an honour and we are delighted about that.
“We celebrated this win together as a team because we are pulling in the same direction as a team and we are fighting for a common goal.
“Now we are taking each game as it comes, we focus on the next fixture and fight for a win again.”
