MUSARIRI LOOKS UP TO PFUMBIDZAI

IMPRESSIVE Yadah defender, Tatenda Musariri, says he is inspired by SuperSport United defender Ronald Pfumbidzai.

Musariri, who hails from Chitungwiza, is currently on loan from Ngezi Platinum Stars.

He joined the Ngezi Platinum development side in 2020 and was promoted to the senior team the following year.

Due to lack of game time, the left back requested a loan move to Triangle where he made 19 appearances in 2022 before moving to Yadah this season.

He already made 16 starts and two substitute appearances.

The 21-year-old defender believes Pfumbidzai has set the bar for him and he wants to follow in his footsteps.

“We grew up watching Pfumbidzai playing and from him I learnt a lot.

“He is a player who has proved to be decisive in many phases of the game and at the same time he remains humble and hardworking.

“So, in many instances, he is a player I would want to emulate and try very much to reach and even improve the levels he has reached.

“I feel the sky’s the limit and I have all the ingredients to reach the top level that I dream of.

“I also want to play for the Warriors which I feel can be the greatest highlight of every player, to represent your country at any given point,” he said.

Yadah picked a point in a 1-1 draw with Simba Bhora on Saturday, moving to 21 points from as many matches and Musariri believes they will survive the chop.

“Our chances to survive are very high. We have a slim margin separating us from the teams above us, so we are just targeting to collect as many points as we can.

“We are looking forward to winning our next five games which we believe will be enough to put us in a better position going ahead,” he said.
