FORMER Zimbabwe international Nyasha Mushekwi has moved to second place on the Chinese Super League Top Scorer’s chart after netting a brace yesterday.
The Zimbabwean forward was on target in Zhejiang FC’s 3-0 home win over Meizhou Hakka, to take his tally to eight goals this season.
Mushekwi scored the team’s opening goal in the 35th minute and rounded off his brace with another strike in the 81st minute.
Between his two strikes Jean Evrard Kouassi also found the back of the net in the 61st minute.
The brace is his second of the season after netting another one in the 2-2 draw with QD Hainiu last month.
Mushekwi had a particularly good outing in the last month scoring in four successive games.
Yesterday’s brace took Mushekwi’s tally to eight goals, two behind leading marksman Leo Souza of Changchun Yatai, who is on 10 goals.
The win saw Zhejiang move to seventh place from 13 games with 18 points and they now trail log leaders Shanghai Port by 11 points.
