BARBOURFIELDS was rocking, but it’s all square at the break! Highlanders and FC Platinum are locked at 1-1 after a thrilling first-half showdown packed with action, near misses, and a dose of drama.
Mason Mushore lit up the first 20 minutes with a cool finish inside the box, after a slick setup by the ever-busy Never Rauzhi. Bosso fans were on their feet again minutes later as Mushore almost made it two with a thunderbolt from range that shaved the post!
Bosso kept their foot on the gas, Rauzhi probed, Reason Sibanda missed a sitter from a low cross, and Mushore pulled the strings like a midfield maestro.
But just as Highlanders looked to be cruising, Devine Mhindirira, back at BF to haunt his old club, npopped up in the 33rd minute to stab home the equaliser. The assist came from Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, but it was Bosso’s momentary lapse, expecting a whistle that never came, that cost them.
Mbongeni Ndlovu, once a Bosso favourite, held the Platinum backline firm, while Brian Banda bossed the midfield for the visitors. Still, it’s Mushore running the show, a livewire presence as Highlanders dominated possession and chances.
Halftime verdict? Bosso better, but not ahead — and with their Castle Lager Premier League title hopes hanging by a thread, they can’t afford any more slip-ups.
