HEARTBREAK has struck the Gumbo family once more.

Virginia Gumbo, the widow of late Warriors and Highlanders coaching legend Rahman “Rush” Gumbo, has passed away.

A close family source revealed that Virginia died in the early hours of Sunday morning at United Bulawayo Hospitals, following a prolonged and painful battle with cancer.
“She fought hard, but in the end, it was too much. The family is devastated,” said the source.

The news comes barely two years after the shock death of Rahman, who left behind a legacy etched in local football history books. Virginia had been a pillar of strength for the family and a quiet force behind Rahman’s success both at club and national level.

Details around funeral arrangements and tributes are expected to be released soon.

More to follow as the nation mourns with the Gumbo family.
