Music group seeks assistance

CHIKORE communal lands in Chipinge East has been synonymous with missionary work that United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe has been doing for over century. Lest did one think that the arts and culture industry would leave a mark in the area.

In showbiz circles, a traditional music group, Nyagadza Mbira Crew has emerged from the area. The all male band comprises of 26-year-old leader, Kudakwashe Chiranga, Goodspeed Muzite, Sionani Gwabuya and Nicholas Chiranga.

With 12 songs on their playlist, the group seeks funding to record a yet to be titled album.

Said Kuda Chiranga: “We have managed to buy our own musical instruments, but the challenge is on promotion. We are looking a sponsor who can buy us a good PA system and pay for our recording.”
