Music that thunders in Victoria Falls!

resort town tonight.
While UNWTO is primarily about tourism it is set to give the local entertainment industry a big nod if the performance by the artistes tonight is anything to go by.

There is no doubt that tourism and entertainment are interconnected and the fact that foreigners will be flocking to Zimbabwe for the event next year is a clear testimony of how music and dance can help in boosting the industry.
Tonight’s bash in Victoria Falls will also attract foreigners considering the fact that Zimbabwe is co-hosting the assembly with neighbours, Zambia.

This is also a chance for the artistes to showcase the stuff they are made of.
“The bash is a countdown to the indaba to be held exactly 12 months from now and it is a way of celebrating it in grand style,” said Sugar Chagonda, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority spokesperson.

The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Engineer Walter Mzembi, is expected to grace the occasion.
The gig offers a glimpse of what Zimbabwe has in offer in terms of genres, with Sulu having an engrossing dendera style that reminds many of his late father Simon.
Sulu has performed at major events and outside the country before, the United Kingdom in particular and he knows how to serenade a cosmopolitan crowd.

Iyasa have also toured the length and breadth of the world, doing what they know best and their inclusion in the line-up is a wise choice because they always give their magnificent best whenever they are on stage.

On the gospel front will be diva Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave,  who has an impressive catalogue of gospel hit songs to her name.
Her songs also express pride in Zimbabwe and Africa at large and revellers will not be disappointed but have something to identify with in her music.

Urban grooves lovers will have something to smile about when Taurai Mandebvu, who is having fine run in the music industry, belts out his popular hits.
Zimbabwe’s own Buju will whet the appetite of dancehall lovers.
The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the UNTWO.
