AFRO fusion musician, Michael “Wenyasha” Masiya, says artists should desist from taking drugs to help save the industry.
The singer also bemoaned the lack of support for the industry.
“We need support in this industry since we are facing financial challenges.
“We appeal to the relevant authorities to chip in whole-heartedly since the industry is a potential cashcow,” he said.
Added Wenyasha:
“I also urge fellow artists to do self-sustaining projects that will help them through their careers and desist from taking drugs.
“There is also need for artists to be original.
“My music touches everyone, either those in church or at the bar, because my vision is to turn each and every person to be good and be people who value peace.
“I got most of my inspiration from Alick Macheso.”
Wenyasha said he started his music journey at a tender age and has two albums and five singles.
He is currently working on an album that will be launched in August.
