Gospel musician Tatenda Mahachi who recently released a DVD to his album “Declarations”, which features South Africa’s S’fiso Ncwane, is expanding his art scope.
The musician is now into fashion business and will be showcasing a friend’s designs at the ongoing Zimbabwe Fashion Week.
“I am very honoured to be taking part in the fashion week, I now know and understand the importance of dressing and looking good as an artiste.
Fashion is now very crucial especially for my career, it has brought a new look in me and I can present myself as a true gentleman.”
His latest DVD is a live recording of his concert that was done at 7Arts Theatre.
His seven-track album features songs like “Ndiye Nzira”, “Ndinoda Jesu” and “Naye Jesu”.
In an interview Mahachi talks about the new DVD.
“I want my music go across the globe. Many times we have heard songs in other languages here in Zimbabwe and it is time to take our own Shona language out there. I want to hear Zambians and South Africans singing in our local language as I trust the Lord to breakthrough into the regional market,” said Mahachi.
The album is already doing well on the market and also receiving airplay on local radio stations.
“Gospel music is a powerful tool in provoking the presence of God and I want people to know that salvation is for everyone regardless of age, nationality or race,” he said.
Mahachi encouraged other artistes to make effort to look good as the first impression is always important.
He said he will be doing shows across the country.
“I believe everyone should receive the word of the Lord and I intend to do a lot of shows across the country and abroad so that everyone gets a share of the word,” he said
