Dancehall ensemble Final Warning Crew has dropped a new single titled “Tsvimbo Kuna Officer”which explains the experiences of one of its member Prosper Dembedza who was caught in the debacle at Madzibaba Ishmael’s shrine in Budiriro. Dembedza who is the group’s leading chanter, is also a journalist by profession and on the fateful day had gone to the shrine as part of the news crew to cover the shutdown incident.

The trip however turned not to be one of the routine news gathering trips as the scribe got more than what he had bargained for after he became one of the unfortunate victims of the much talked about Budiriro incident.

The experience pushed Dembedza to pen the song giving his side of the account.
The song “Tsvimbo Kuna Officer” narrates the Budiriro ordeal from personal experience as the singer explains how he escaped with minor injuries from the clash.

In the song, the Final Warning Crew front-man says while he tried to flee from the ensuing fracas he was hit by a stone.
“Ndakati ndimhanye ndikanzwa zidombo patsapfu randigara . . . ” sings the chanter.
He further says he had the first experience of the bust up, “Pakarohwa munhu bvunza ini ndanga ndiripo shuwa zvaitorwadza. Porisi ichimhanya poristori rakasona pafeya hazvaimbofadza”.

The singer makes light of the event by singing that every one who was not in Apostolic robes on the day got a lashing as he sings, “Yaingova tsvimbo kuna officer newese asina gemenzi”.

The singer proves that any situation which avails itself, no matter how unfortunate, can be artistically retold.
