Musician seeks financial assistance

Simba has been learning music instruments at Sabbath Heyman for the past 30 months but his musical journey has come to a halt after the failure to come up with the $20 per month fees.

In an interview, Simba said he would like to further his studies and follow in the footsteps of other disabled artistes that had defied the odds and went on to become household names in Zimbabwean music.

“I want to continue learning music because I want to emulate the likes of Paul Matavire who showed people that one can be gifted musically although they are blind. It will also allow me to show those that are to follow behind me that they too can also follow my footsteps and be successful in their chosen career paths,” he said.

Simba said that he had decided to learn playing instruments before pursuing any particular genre because he felt that would give him a firm foundation to launch his career in whatever field he will choose.

“I am mainly looking at playing instruments right now before I go into any specific genre because I feel that for me is a good starting point. I will look at what genre I want to pursue in future when I have acquired the right tools,” he said.

Simba appealed to individuals and companies around the city to come to his aid as it would result in the realization of a lifelong ambition.

“This is something that I have always dreamt of and I appeal to anyone out there to come to my assistance. If there are companies or individuals out there willing to help it would be greatly appreciated because it would assist me in taking a further step in my career,” he said.
