Musicians celebrate awards

Entertainment Reporter
Dancehall musicians that were recently honoured at the inaugural Zimdancehall Awards will tonight celebrate their achievements with a show at Super Label Nightclub.
Most of the musicians have confirmed their participation at the event while some would come as guest artistes. The show promises fireworks since it would feature the cream of dancehall musicians. Event organisers said they would honour the musicians at the show.

“This is a time to celebrate. The musicians did well at the awards and they deserve to be saluted. This show will bring them together in a celebratory event,” said the organisers.

A total of 22 artistes won accolades at the awards. Winky D got the most awards as he took the Best Video and Choreography for the song “Tsamba Kuvashakabvu”, Best Social Message for “Mafira Kureva”, Best Live Performer of the Year and Best Male Artiste. His strongest contenders Killer T together and Soul Jah Love won the Best Upcoming Artistes award. Shinsoman’s “Mawaya-Waya” was the Song of the Year while the female artists were made proud as dancehall queen Lady Squanda scooped the Best Female Artiste award.

Freeman’s album “New Chapter”, which was generally said to be a flop got him the Best Album of the Year award.
