A fundraising show to assist Zororai Old People’s home in Mutare Gospel will be held on Saturday at Pick and Save. Twenty artists have confirmed their participation at the event that is meant to rescue old people at the home.
Artists to perform include Blessing Shumba, Progress Chipfumo, Brian Samaita, Agatha Murudzwa, Hosiah Chipanga, Jusa Mupositori, and many local artists.

Event co-ordinator Givemore Makunika said he was touched by the crisis that has hit the old people’s home.

“They cannot afford to buy descent food for the old people and they no longer have electricity so we have decided to host a charity event for the institution that have 25 people,” said Makunika.

He thanked businessman and promoter Esau Mupfumi who provided venue and equipment for free and artists who have shown commitment to participate on the event.

“Mupfumi is the one who is assisting us with equipment and the venue for free and even the co-ordination with artists,” he said.

Shumba urged people from Mutare to come and support the event.

“The word of God encourages people to give and if people come in their numbers to give they will get more,” the soft spoken musician said.

The musician is expected to unveil songs from his coming album “Holy Psalms Volume 1” at the event for the first time.

Samaita, Chipanga, Mupositori and Murudzwa promised to be at their best on that day.

“Besides participating on that event it will be yet another day to give our best and encouraging people to continue assisting our elders,” said Samaita.
