MUSICIAN’S WIFE IN SUDDEN DEATH

SOUTH Africa-based musician, Marlion ‘Svuubs’ Svuure, is heartbroken and mourning the sudden death of his wife Petronella Hondo.

The Kutsanyira Vavengi hit-maker said Petronella (42), fell ill while at work on January 22, and she was taken to hospital.

She died the following day.

“She went to work on January 22 without any sign of illness and, at around 11am, she was reported to have complained of pain on the back of her neck.

“She then complained of a headache and dizziness before falling unconscious.

“She started vomiting. 

“An ambulance was called and she was referred to RK Khan Hospital in Chatsworth, Durban, where she was later transferred to King Edwards Hospital.

“Sadly, she was pronounced dead on January 23 and doctors have been unable to determine the cause of her death,” said Svuure.

He said the couple had been married for 11 years and they had two children — Mudiwa and Tadiwa.

“I am trying to be strong, but it’s not easy. She will be buried in Nyanga most probably on February 3.

“Paperwork is most likely to be completed on Tuesday and we depart on Wednesday for Zimbabwe.”

He has had hits such as Kutsanyira Vavengi and Jehovha Munondigonera.
