MUTARE CITY Rovers have opened a six-point lead in the Zifa Eastern Region Division One League title race after they were awarded three points from their game against Mukanya Bullets which failed to kick-off at Sakubva on Sunday.

Buffaloes and Tenax, who are both on 60 points, will need a miracle.

Mutare City were demoted from the top-flight last year on the final day.

They could have avoided the chop if they had not been docked three points for using suspended Kudakwashe Gurure in their league match against FC Platinum at Mandava.

The Central Region race was sealed at the wire as Shurugwi-based Nichrut were crowned champions on Sunday.
