MUTARE Council to re-advertise vacant Town Clerk’s post

MUTARE City Council will soon re-advertise the vacant Town Clerk’s post after the Local Government Board rejected shortlisted candidates that were forwarded to Government for consideration.

Mayor, Councillor Tatenda Nhamarare told Diamond FM News that the local authority will start afresh to look for a suitable candidate.

He said Government rejected the shortlisted candidates because they lacked senior managerial experience in local governance, while some had pending labour-related disciplinary cases with their previous employers.

Clr Nhamarare said the local authority was looking for the best person to fill the post and, thus, re-advertisement was the best option.

Mutare has been running without a substantive chief executive office following the resignation of Mr Obert Muzawazi early this year. Abel Zhakata.
