Mutare thieves caught in Rusape with stolen goods

TWO thieves from Mutare who stole a car, two cellphones and cash, have been caught in Rusape selling the goods.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) in a statement on X, said, “Blessing Magada (22) and Tobias Dube (18) were arraigned before the Mutare Magistrates’ Court facing charges of theft of motor vehicle. On the 3rd of June 2024 at around 1900 hours in Gimboki, Mutare, the complainant arrived at his house and disembarked from his car and left it idling while he went to open the gate.

“The accused persons got into the complainant’s car as the complainant was opening the gate and drove away. They took some jewellery, a tools box, a Samsung A10S cellphone with a Buddie line, an Itel with a NetOne line, USD37 and R2 000 cash among other things. The accused persons were arrested when they were found in possession of the car trying to sell the jewellery in Rusape. They also led the detectives to their rented place in Vengere, Rusape where the complainant’s belongings were recovered.”
