Mutare to host Chibuku Neshamwari 2025 national finals on July

THE city of Mutare will this year host the 2025 edition of the Chibuku Neshamwari national finals at Mutare Showgrounds on May

The national finals rotate yearly across provinces with Masvingo having hosted the last edition at Mucheke Stadium.

In a statement, organisers said preparation are on course.

“The stage is set, the drums are calling, and the excitement is building as the 2025 Chibuku Neshamwari
Traditional Dance Festival reaches its grand finale! Since the 10th of May, this extraordinary celebration
of our culture and heritage has captivated audiences across the provinces, and now, all eyes turn to Mutare Showgrounds for the National Finals on 19th of July 2025.

“This year’s festival, hosted in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and the Zimbabwe National Traditional Dance Association (ZNTDA), has brought communities together in a shared celebration of traditional dance,” said the organisers.

Groups that have advanced to the national finals are Jeketera Renyaungwe (Midlands), Imvimbi Arts (Matabeleland North), Katawa Dance Group (Mashonaland West), Gure Unde (Midlands) and Semvumba Arts Ensemble (Manicaland).

The competition continues by heading to Harare where it will be held at Hurudza Beer Hall in Mabvuku on June 24, while the Manor Hotel will host the Bulawayo finals on the same day. Tipaz Night Club in Shamva will host the Mashonaland Central finals on July 5.
