HELLO there, hope I find you well!
Another week, another significant development in our beautiful city. As I mentioned in our last week’s update, we continue to make progress in improving the trafficability of our roads. Our roads have been a top priority for us, and we continue make progress despite limited resources.
Following the commencement of works on Railway Street and Bridge Road last week, I am delighted to announce that we have now started construction works on Newcastle and Industrial roads.
These roads are vital for facilitating access to our industries, which will play a significant role in driving economic growth and development, aligning with our national vision of an upper-middle-income society by 2030.
The works began in earnest on September 27, 2025, and are expected to run until October 13, 2025.
There will be limited access to these roads during the construction period, and we encourage motorists who can use alternative routes to do so until the works are completed. The road repairs will significantly improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and make it easy for drivers to navigate the city.
As a city we are committed to continue improving our infrastructure, and this project is a step in the right direction. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to completing this project for the benefit of our community.
For more information on this construction project, please contact the Principal Road Engineer, Barnabas Shokora on 0783 333 973 or the Road Technician, Daniel Nyirenda on 0773 155 965.
As we strive to improve service delivery and move towards achieving the ideals of a Smart City concept for Mutare, I want to assure you that my office is open for engagement with residents and stakeholders. Our goal is to work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for our residents and make Mutare a better place to live, work, and visit. I encourage residents and stakeholders to engage with my office, share their ideas, and provide feedback on how we can improve our services and achieve our Smart City vision.
In the coming days, we will be having budget consultation meetings to gather valuable input from our residents and stakeholders. This will enable us to craft a budget that effectively prioritizes the needs of our community.
We have advertised the proposed 2026 tariffs and encourage all residents and stakeholders to review them before attending the consultation meetings. Your participation and feedback will play a significant role in shaping our budget and ensuring it meets the needs of our city.
