ELEGANT and poised, 22-year-old Christine Ngoshi has etched her name into the Zimbabwean pageantry history after winning the prestigious Miss Elite Global Congeniality title at the international Miss Elite Global pageant held last week in Goa City, India.
A proud daughter of Mutare and Manicaland, but now based in Harare, Ngoshi, not only did Zimbabwe proud, but also flew the African flag high on an international platform graced by contestants from countries like Malaysia, India, Belarus, and the Philippines.
Her latest accolade, awarded to the most approachable and friendly contestant, is no small feat.
She made history becoming the first Zimbabwean model to receive such a distinguished title at the global level.
Her win underscores the warmth, charisma, and genuine spirit that defined her journey from the very start.
Her rise to prominence began when she was crowned Miss Elite Global Zimbabwe during a glamorous pageant held at a local hotel in Mutare in November last year.
From then on, her charm, striking presence, and admirable qualities won the hearts of many, and it came as no surprise to those who witnessed her journey that she has now conquered the global stage.
But beyond the glitz and glamour of the pageant world, who is Christine Ngoshi?
She grew up in Greenside low-density suburb where she was raised by her late mother.
She is a passionate and purpose-driven young woman whose modelling career is deeply rooted in service to others.
She is particularly dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities, especially children living with disabilities, the disadvantaged, and girl child.
Prior to her departure for India, she donated blankets, mosquito nets, and bedding to Jairos Jiri Children’s Centre to help children stay warm through the winter season.
Ngoshi holds the title of Miss Fabulous Zimbabwe Cultural Queen, and continues to embody a vision of social impact through modelling.
She believes in the power of using her platform to advocate for social responsibility, with the long-term goal of contributing to poverty alleviation in Zimbabwe.
Speaking through her manager, Simbarashe Gwavava, Ngoshi said she is overjoyed with her international recognition, while also reflecting on the challenges faced.
She said the accolade will go a long way in shaping her blossoming career.
“We are incredibly proud of Christine’s outstanding performance in India. Despite facing several travel-related challenges and other unforeseen difficulties along the way, she remained composed, confident, and focused throughout the competition.
“The pageant was highly competitive, with top-tier contestants from across the globe, yet Christine rose to the occasion and brought home an international title – something that speaks volumes about her resilience, professionalism, and determination. Her ability to stay grounded under pressure and still shine on such a prestigious platform is truly inspiring. This victory is, not just a personal achievement for Christine, but a national triumph that reflects the strength and potential of Zimbabwean talent,” he said.
Looking ahead, Ngoshi says she plans to continue her work in community engagement.
