Mutasa DDC dies during swearing-in ceremony

ACTING Mutasa District Development Coordinator, Mrs Caroline Mudawariwo who collapsed and died during the swearing in ceremony of the local authority’s councillors on Tuesday has been described as a hard working leader.

She was 34.

Acting Manicaland provincial director (Local Government Services and Administration), Mr John Misi confirmed Mrs Mudawariwo’s sudden death and said Local Government administration will be poorer without her.

“She was a hardworking lady of integrity. She was very efficient in her execution of duties. We also remember her as an honest individual who would go an extra mile in responding to the call of duty,” said Mr Misi.

He said Mrs Mudawariwo complained of a headache as Chief Mutasa was giving his vote of thanks during the swearing-in ceremony for Mutasa Rural District councillors’ at the local authority’s DC Mutasa boardroom.

Mr Misi said: “She was rushed to a nearby clinic and was referred to Bonda Mission Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.”

Mr Misi said burial arrangements are yet to be finalised and a post mortem was set to be conducted yesterday.
