MUTASA HOLDS NO GRUDGES ON HIS GREEN FUEL RETURN

Bruce Chikuni

IT will be an emotional return to Chisumbanje for MWOS coach Lloyd Mutasa who will visit Green Fuel tomorrow, a side where he was dismissed unfairly a few years ago.

Mutasa was in charge of the Ethanol Boys when they secured their PSL slot in a campaign they finished unbeaten in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One Soccer League.

He was relieved of his duties after their first game, in the top-flight league, when they suffered a 0-1 loss at the hands of Yadah.

Mutasa has since turned a corner in his adventure after an impressive start that has seen MWOS avoiding a loss in 12 fixtures.

The hosts last lost at their fortress two seasons ago, when they suffered a 0-3 defeat against Simba Bhora.

It’s a record that will give the high-flying Punters a headache.

Only a share of the spoils will see these two sides extending their unbeaten runs.

Mutasa’s men have accumulated 26 points, a combination of five draws and seven wins.

His counterpart, Taurai Mangwiro, has managed 16 points, winning three times, losing twice, and drawing seven times.

Mutasa says he has no plans to prove to his former bosses that they were wrong to let him go.

“I don’t hold any grudge against Green Fuel, they gave me their platform to showcase what I can do, and I helped them to be in the PSL,” said Mutasa.

“It’s unfortunate that things had to end the way they did, but that’s the nature of our job.

“I don’t have anything against them, I wish they could stay in the PSL forever, so people will always remember my name as the person who made it possible.

“It’s business as usual and we’re going there to play our normal game. We know it’s not an easy fixture but we have to try our best to get a positive result.”
