IN what might be a shock but expected move, Dynamos are set to ring changes to their technical team with a Botswana national, David Bright, set to replace the underfire Lloyd Mutasa. Following a 1-2 loss to bitter rivals Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday which ensured Bosso completed a double over them, Mutasa’s fate became sealed with sources close to the Harare giants telling this publication that the club immediately invited Bright for talks.

It is believed that the Bosso loss was the final straw in Mutasa’s four-month romance with Dynamos. “I have not heard of the name you are mentioning but like any ambitious institution, if results are not coming changes are bound to be made and we shall make them,” said Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa, who missed the blockbuster clash on Sunday.

Mutasa was appointed Dynamos coach in May, taking over from the controversial Paulo Jorge Silva but has failed to impose himself on the side. DeMbare have been blowing hot and cold and are almost out of the running for the league title as they trail leaders FC Platinum by a massive 12 points with seven matches to go.

The club also experienced some disciplinary issues with certain senior players who allegedly went on a drinking spree after a 0-2 loss to struggling Border Strikers. DeMbare have dropped 19 points in their last 10 games and the club, probably fearing an outside top eight finish, wants to avoid disaster and give the new coach ample time to study and know the club culture ahead of the 2017 season.

Bright, a major in the Botswana army, was last month named as the new Debswana First Division side Morupule Wanderers coach. He is considered to be one of Botswana’s most successful coaches. He won three consecutive Botswana Premier League (BPL) titles between 1999 and 2001 with Mogoditshane Fighters. — skhumoyo2000
