CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League new boys MWOS will be out to make history this afternoon when they face Triangle United in a sizzling Chibuku Super Cup semi-final at Norton’s Ngoni Stadium.
It’s a dream debut season for Lloyd Mutasa’s men, who have punched above their weight to reach the last four of the country’s biggest knockout tournament.
“We have had a good run this season. It’s our first year in the top league and we are happy with the stage we have reached in this cup tournament. We are looking forward to getting a positive result and progressing to the finals,” said Mutasa.
Triangle United, the 2018 Chibuku Super Cup champions, stand in their way. The Sugar Boys are known for their big-match temperament and will be out to spoil MWOS’ fairytale run.
Tomorrow, all eyes will be on Rufaro Stadium where giants Dynamos and Highlanders collide in the other semi-final, a battle already billed as a “final before the final.”
DeMbare are the defending champions, having lifted the trophy in 2023 and 2024, while Bosso last tasted Chibuku glory in 2019.
With MWOS dreaming big and Triangle chasing redemption, Norton is set for fireworks.
