Mutasa praises, warns Mukamba

technically gifted player who can score great goals if he manages to keep a cool head.
Mutasa worked with the player last season at Kiglon and knows what he is capable of producing and believes more is still to come from Mukamba this season at Dynamos.
Mukamba curled the ball into the net straight from a well-taken corner as Dynamos dismissed Highlanders 1-0 in a Hexagon Venture challenge match at Rufaro on Sunday. The sixth minute wonder goal did not come as a surprise to his coach Mutasa.
Not since former Gunners defender Zhaimu Jambo scored from a corner has any local player repeated the feat at Rufaro until Mukamba’s moment.
Jambo converted as he turned out for the Warriors during a CHAN qualifier against South Africa in November 2008 while Moses Chunga and William Mugeyi are revered for scoring from such pieces during his playing days at Dynamos.
“Denver is a technically superior player.
“He is gifted. It’s not the first time I have seen him scoring straight from a corner kick. He has done that before at training and I was not completely surprised with the goal,” said Mutasa.
Mukamba appears to have struck an understanding with Archieford Gutu as the two also play together at the Warriors and the national Under-23 side. Gutu also reads Mukamba’s runs well and their telepathy has been crucial to DeMbare’s build-up to a promising 2011 season.
Mutasa, however, hinted that he might make some changes to his squad in Dynamos’ next assignment – a Charity Shield clash against Motor Action at the same venue. The Dynamos coach sent a largely unchanged side for the matches against CAPS United and Highlanders.
The game against Motor Action will be DeMbare’s final preparation before the team faces MC Alger of Algeria in a Champions League game.
“In the game against Motor Action, we could be making some changes.
“So far I have managed to see the bulk of the players and no know what they can do.
“But we still have to look at other players like Guthrie (Zhokinyi),” Mutasa said.
