Mwando aims high

Mwando is currently in Dar es Salaam where he is expected to seal the deal for the bout scheduled for August 27.
On Saturday, Mwando beat Nasibu Msafiri by points in a super-middle weight non-title fight at Jamhuri Stadium.

The fight was on one of the four under-card bouts before the match between Cheka and Japhet Kasemba.
“I beat Nasibu Msafiri on points in our non-title fight and the promoters are now lining me up to challenge Cheka for the IBF continental belt.

“It will be a great honour for me to fight for the belt,” he said.
Mwando had been training in Malawi for the past month where he is under Stephen Msiska’s Ngumi Boxing Stable.
