“I started on a low note, but managed to come back in the second and third rounds and this brought me back into the game.
“It was my second competitive match during my vacation after the Manicaland amateur championships where I came second.”
Ben Follet-Smith, who had a dream start to the season, was second after rounds of 72, 70 and 74. South Africa-based Bentley Hudson was third.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union has named the teams to take part in the A and B Triangular Series set for Chapman. The players will take part in some practice rounds to familiarise themselves with the course.
The selectors have opted for experience and Sally Preston will lead the A Division that will face Zambia and Botswana. Constance Mashiri will lead the B Division side that also features the Union’s president Marita Kahwema.
ZLGU public relations officer, Evelyn Maisvoreva, said everyone was raring to go.
“All is set as we await the A and B Triangular which is around the corner, with A Division battling it out with Zambia and Botswana at our very own grounds in Harare at Chapman Golf Club on 18 July, 2012,” said Maisvoreva.
