ZANU-PF Mwenezi East Member of the National Assembly Cde Joshua Moyo has died.

He was 66

Cde Moyo who replaced the expelled former Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Mr Kudakwashe Bhasikiti after winning the by-elections uncontested in July 2015, has been unwell since suffering a stroke in June last year.

Mwenezi District Administrator Ms Rosemary Chingwe confirmed Cde Moyo’s death in a telephone interview yesterday saying he died at Masvingo General Hospital on Thursday at around 9:30AM.

She said mourners are gathered at his home, Mariot Farm near Rutenga Business Centre.

Ms Chingwe said Cde Moyo will be buried at his farm on Monday.

Zanu PF provincial secretary for transport and welfare Cde Rennias Muchoko said Cde Moyo was now using a wheelchair.

“We will miss this hardworking party cadre. He was loved by many people in this district. He had been a councillor since 2005 until he was elected MP in 2015 after the seat fell vacant following the expulsion of Mr Bhasikiti.

“Burial arrangements are in progress. He will be buried on Monday at his farm near Rutenga Business centre. We have also requested the party to accord him district hero status,” said Cde Muchoko.

Cde Moyo is survived by a wife and five children.
