MWOS duo of Everson Feremba and Malvern Mudzuka are delighted after making an impact at the club after joining during the mid-season window break.
The duo arrived from rivals Black Rhinos unceremoniously, and it took the intervening hand of FUZ to get the duo cleared to player by ZIFA.
While at Black Rhinos Mudzuka had formed an exciting midfield partnership with Kuda Nyakudanga and Christopher Brighton while Feremba was the gunslinger for the army side which saw them terrorising opponents at will.
Mwos and Black Rhinos are rivals in the battle to win the championship with Harare City and Scottland also in the equation.
Feremba and Mudzuka were handed their first starts against Karoi on Saturday and they seized the opportunity.
Feremba registered a brace while Mudzuka was also on the scoresheet to help MWOS complete a 5-1 mauling of Karoi.
Arthur Banda and Nigel Matinha were the other goal scorers for MWOS.
“I am happy with my first goals for MWOS. It was long overdue for me as I waited a bit longer than expected to do this,” said Feremba.
“It hasn’t been easy for me to be here, it was a tough journey, but the biggest story is I never gave up.
“So I am grateful to the supporters and everyone who kept on believing in me so I will keep on working hard and excited about the future,” he said.
Mudzuka said:
“I am delighted to be helping the team to get it where it wants to be. I am promising more as we are only getting started,” he said.
