‘MY BOY WAS MURDERED’. . .Grieving father rejects post-mortem results

TWO months after a 20 year-old student was found hanging from a tree in Norton, his family now says he did not commit suicide.

Gerald Tadiwanashe Mapurisa had last been seen at the gate of the family home on January 5.

The next day, his lifeless body was found hanging from a tree.

Some relatives, including Gerald’s father, Joseph Mapurisa Chivhayo, visit the tree, where he was found hanging, daily.

Chivhayo told H-Metro that the family did not accept the post-mortem results.

“We can’t accept that Gerald hanged himself,” said Chivhayo.

“From the picture of the Gerald at the scene, it shows that he died while kneeling.

“I suspect that he was killed elsewhere and they just hanged him on the tree.

“It is our prayer that the culprits are exposed and face the wrath of the law.” 

A memorial service for Gerald will be held at the beginning of next month in Norton.
