‘My kids stay at a bar’

A MAN has told the Harare Civil Court that he can’t bear the sight of his children staying at a bar, where their mother works, and wants to take them to his home.

Dunmore Shayanewako was dragged to court by his wife, Farai Machingura, who is a bartender.

Machingura said she wanted her husband, Dunmore Shayanewako, to be barred from visiting her workplace and taking the children to his house without her consent.

“He was convicted of domestic violence and is still performing community service.

“He is in the habit of taking the children to his house without my consent. I want him to be barred from accessing the children,” said Faith.

Dunmore denied going to Faith’s workplace.

“She is my wife and I stopped going to her workplace on 6 June.

“We had a dispute because she went to Chegutu without my approval.

“The children had missed me and they asked to visit me. My other son ran away from her to come and stay with me.

“The problem is that she stays at a bar where she has a room.

“The problem is that there is a lot of noise and immoral things happen there. It’s not a good place for children,” said Dunmore.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted the protection order in Faith’s favour.
