A HARARE woman says she can no longer bear hearing her son repeatedly calling her a witch who triggered the collapse of his marriage.

Winnie Mukondwa said her son, Raynold Mukondwa, accuses her of bewitching him.

“He calls me a witch Your Worship. He accuses me of being responsible for the break-up of his first marriage.

“He accuses me of owning a snake, and claims I killed his father,” said Winnie.

Raynold was in default.

Magistrate Mandlenkosi Ndlovu said according to Section 99, accusing someone of witchcraft is a criminal charge on its own.

The magistrate said Winnie had approached a court with no powers to grant a protection order against her son, and advised her to report the matter to the police.
