Mzilikazi High teachers escalate court drama

THE dramatic tale that involves Mzilikazi High School teachers continues to unfold as on Monday, three teachers dragged their colleague to court accusing her of emotionally abusing them and ruining their reputations.

Last week it was Plaxedis Munyaradzi Kumbirayi who had dragged her colleagues to court for allegedly sending her nudes to other colleagues and sharing them with students.

But this week, it was Kumbirayi who was dragged to court by Headwig Muzanagwo, Lawrence Mashakani, and Nokuthula Hlabangana.

Headwig took to the stand and said: “I’m applying for a peace order against Munyaradzi. I pray that this court stops her from spreading falsehoods about me. She lied that I always threaten to share her nudes on social media while I do not have those nudes and I have never seen them.”

She added: “The issue has left me traumatised. And it has also tarnished my reputation.”

In her defence, Kumbirayi said: “She is the source of her trauma. She is the one who openly stated that she has my nudes and would share them on various social media platforms.”

Next on the dock was Mashakani.

“I’m applying for a protection order against Kumbirayi. She has been accusing me of creating a WhatsApp group where she says I shared her nudes. I have never done that. Her unrestrained accusations have caused problems in my marriage and I’m afraid the issue would affect my credibility and reputation at my workplace and in the eyes of the public,” he stated.

Kumbirayi responded saying: “I’m happy that he has learnt his lessons and it has dawned on him that his actions have consequences.”

Hlabangana took to the stand and said: “I’m applying for protection against my colleague Kumbirayi. She falsely accuses me of spreading her confidential information. I cannot freely answer my phone calls because whenever she sees me answering my calls she would accuse me of gossiping about her.”

She added: “A workplace has to be a conducive environment but she has made it toxic. The issue stresses me because I have received numerous calls from the police and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has come to the school over the issue. I need to be protected by the law.”

In her response, Kumbirayi said: “I’m happy that people who have been harassing me have come to their senses.”

The presiding magistrate, Challenge Mahembe, granted Muzanagwo, Mashakani and Hlabangana a protection order against Kumbirayi. Kumbirayi was ordered not to verbally and emotionally abuse the trio. The order also prescribes that she maintains peace towards her colleagues.
