Mzingwane artistes cry for help

Arts-clip-art

I as an Umzingwane district poet, ventured into the arts industry in 1997. My performances have been highly recognised nationally but I have not started enjoying the fruits of my hard work as an accomplished poet.

I have realised that Umzingwane has a lot of talented artistes who are failing to take their artistic potential to greater heights, including Esigodini where I am also based.

We have a Habane Township -based traditional dance group called Izintombi leZinsizwa Zomhlaba which is performing in full swing.

The group comprises active ladies and gentlemen who are lack financial sponsorship.
We have tried to establish a cultural centre within the district but we are still waiting for the chief executive officer to approve our application. However, currently we have also formed an association (Umzingwane Arts Association) whereby I am taking part in the committee.

We want to take and understand artistic works as a career which should earn us a good living not a hobby.
Mina siyangichaza ispano sami, ngiyasithanda siyiswi. I am doing it with maximum endurance.
