ZIMBABWE Season Nine and Ten judge and versatile artiste Mzoe 7 has said the country’s creative sector has significant potential for growth if institutions and corporates work closely with industry players.

Mzoe 7 has been part of the judging panel for the talent search programme, which has helped uncover raw talent from across the country.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Dreamstar finale held on August 15, Mzoe 7 said the talent Zimbabwe possesses is ready for export and has the potential to achieve international recognition.

“The creative arts industry has a big room for growth that can be exportable to the whole world, especially when more institutions and corporates work hand in hand with industry players.

“We have seen growth over the past few years and I’m happy to say Zimbabwe is headed in the right direction as long as establishments like Dreamstar, private players and, most importantly, the Government support the creative sector.

“We need to keep telling more of our beautiful stories to the world through music and film. We are definitely headed in the right direction, as we have seen more films being produced, more dance groups, more good music and writers crossing over to the world stage,” said Mzoe 7.

He said it was an honour to be part of the talent search programme, which he believes is transforming the lives of aspiring creatives by providing a platform for exposure and professional growth.

“I feel honoured to be part of the Dreamstar judges, especially in this prestigious Season 10, because Dreamstar is changing lives and bringing not only hope but also opportunities to Zimbabwe’s undiscovered talent in the creative sector.

“It was a tough call to judge, as all the contestants brought their A-game to the stage. A big shout-out to JCMC for the opportunity and the great work they are doing in the creative space,” said Mzoe 7.
