As local schools closed today, multi-award-winning musician Mzoe 7 has raised the importance of children staying safe during the holiday break, encouraging them to stay away from drug abuse and other ills.

In a series of school visits leading up to the end of the third term, Mzoe 7 took his time to engage with students in Bulawayo, urging them to stay away from drugs and avoid premature sexual activities.

In his candid discussions, he touched on the serious implications of teenage pregnancies and the risk of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

The musician expressed a genuine concern for the well-being of these young individuals, as he made sure that they understand that the festive season often brings temptations that can sidetrack their futures.
“We are now in the festive season and my message to young people is that they must enjoy the holidays, but make safe choices. I would like to remind them that they have their whole lives ahead of them and that making informed decisions during this time is of paramount importance.
“As I send this message of abstinence and safety, I am urging young people to take control of their lives, resist peer pressure, and engage in activities that will aid in their personal growth rather than hinder it,” said Mzoe 7.

The Asambeni hitmaker also reached out to parents, encouraging them to look out for their children during the holidays.
“Parental guidance is essential, because we have seen these young people interacting in unsupervised gatherings and parties, such as the risky Vuzu parties which are notorious among teens.
“I encourage honest communication between parents and children, as I believe that through this way, kids can make more informed decisions and play in a safer environment during the holidays,” said Mzoe 7.
