THE National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe are intensifying their efforts to push athletes to qualify for various regional and international competitions. A meet is slated for June 12 at the National Sports Stadium B Arena with junior and senior athletes expected to compete.

National junior coach, Silas Muringani, said the meet presents athletes with a platform to qualify for different upcoming events such as the Southern Region Junior championships and the Africa Senior championships this month.

The junior regional championships are set for June 17 to 18 in Zambia and the senior championships are in Durban, South Africa from June 22 to 26.

“This is a qualifier for Rio, World Junior championships, Africa Union Sports Council Region Five Games and the regional meets,” he said.
