IN March this year, the country’s arts governing body, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) bade farewell to Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation (JCMC) as its National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) event curator and two months down the line, they have announced the appointment of Scarlet Studios in partnership with Events Evolution as the new event managers.

The announcement was made on Tuesday. With their mantra, “Championing Arts Development”, NACZ is ready to work with Scarlet Studios from 2026 to 2030.

“National Arts Council of Zimbabwe is pleased to announce the appointment of Scarlet Studios in partnership with Events Evolution as the new event managers for the National Arts Merit Awards.
“With their extensive experience in event management, Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution will bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to Nama. They will work closely with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe to ensure the event continues to exceed expectations and deliver an exceptional experience for attendees, nominees, and winners,” read part of the statement.

The NACZ Board selected Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution as the event management team after a competitive application process. NACZ said these companies demonstrated exceptional skills, technical capacity, and experience during their pitch presentations, meeting the expected Nama standards.

JCMC served as the event managers for Nama from 2019, and their tenure ended early this year after curating a spectacular 23rd edition of Nama. The NACZ then announced an open call for a new event management company to oversee the awards, culminating in Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution being selected. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
