Naked male stroller causes stir in suburb

HE walks around commando-style and claims to be minding his own business.

Every day in the morning Busani Khumalo from Cowdray Park in Bulawayo wakes up and walks around his yard wearing nothing. His antics have earned him attention from women in the neighbourhood who have mixed feelings towards his “loose hanging” antics.

“What is disturbing is that his house does not have a durawall. So we all see him. It is very bad especially for us women to see a man’s nakedness,” said a woman who spoke on condition of anonymity.

What is also shocking is that women in Cowdray Park said besides being made to see Khumalo’s nakedness he is also in the habit of insulting them about their private parts.

“Every time he sees me he insults me about my private part. He describes it saying it is very loose as if he has seen it. I am way older than him and so I have always seen him as my son. I don’t expect such behaviour from him. He used to be a good person but I don’t know what got into him,” said one resident.

Cowdray Park residents’ chairperson Lindiwe Sibanda said the issue had been brought to her attention.

“I am aware of this issue, in fact a few women have come to me complaining that Khumalo’s actions are sexually tormenting,” said Sibanda.

She added: “We have tried to counsel him on several issues that people bring forth concerning him and I hope he really changes his ways.”

Khumalo gave his side of the story.

“Early morning when I get up I don’t feel the need to put on clothes because I will be in my yard. On insulting women, well, they are lying, they are the ones who have problems always seeking my attention. They should just focus on their lives and leave me alone,” said Khumalo.
