Nama preps at advanced stage

“This was one of our marathon technical meetings to work on the technical aspects of the show,” said Mighty Movies marketing executive, Zandile Ndlovu.

She said preparations were at an advanced stage and their team was ready to ignite Bulawayo on 16 February.

“This is the first time Bulawayo is hosting the annual awards ceremony and we therefore want to make it memorable,” said Ndlovu.

National Arts Council of Zimbabwe’s Nicholas Moyo and Audrey Charamba, Nama taskforce headed by Events Africa director, Jomo Mhone and Mighty Movies officials toured the venue.

Ndlovu also announced that ZiFM stereo and ZBC TV were the official media partners that were expected to broadcast the event live from the City Hall.

NACZ assistant director, Charamba said they were satisfied with the preparations so far and were hopeful that the event would live up to its billing.

“We are hoping the event would be a resounding success for Bulawayo,” said Charamba.

The 12th edition of the Nama awards would be held on 16 February and outstanding artistes from 35 categories will walk away winners on the night.

Nominees will be announced on Wednesday.
