with Ghanaian Alex two weeks back.
The strategy, which has been used time and again by previous housemates to avoid eviction, worked well for Vimbai as she got three country votes from Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Kenya enough to keep her in the race for the US$200 000.
Her X-rated adventure was the talking point on social network forums last week but most people condoned her actions saying it was part of the game. However, some of the comments were a bit over the top as it bordered on malice and mischief.
But the Sunday Eviction Show was not like any other show as the six evictees – Vimbai, Confidence, Weza, Jossy, Danny and Vina – all from the Heads House joined IK, the presenter, on stage.
Departing from the norm, IK interviewed the housemates on the nominations and it was quite revealing. When he asked the 24-year-old Vimbai to stand up she was greeted with loud cheers from the crowds. Like the true Zimbabwean that she is, Vimbai was fluent and on point too. Oozing with cool confidence Vimbai told IK that it was up to Africa to save her as she had done her part.
Other popular housemates were Vina from Nigeria and Angola’s Weza who received huge applause from the excited audience.
Later IK announced the four housemates Vina, Confidence, Vimbai and Weza who were to return to the Heads house while the two guys Danny and Jossy stood alone on stage as they waited for their fate.
In no time Danny from Ethiopia was told to join the other housemates in the Tails house where he got the most amazing reception from Lotus. If anything Danny’s return to Tails house caused a lot anxiety among the housemates.
There, things took a turn as Tails housemates bombarded Danny with questions. Last week, it was only the Heads housemates who put each other for eviction while those in the Tails house enjoyed a grace period.
Before he announced the first housemate to leave Big Brother Amplified, IK asked Danny to join the rest of the housemates in the Tails house.
Then it became obvious that Jossy was the first housemate to leave Big Brother Amplified.
Two things could have contributed to the Namibian’s eviction and one of them was that Jossy didn’t gel with a lot of the housemates.
The Heads’ house is made up of egotistical personalities and those who think they have already arrived.
This is not so compared to the housemates in the Tails house who appear to be simple, fun loving and caring. Viewers did not get much from the interview between IK and Jossy who wore dark glasses as if to hide his sorrow.
Nobody seemed to feel sorry for Jossy and it looked like people were content with the eviction results.
At this point it is difficult to tell which way the reality series will go but at least viewers have to stay glued as Biggie might spring more surprises.
Big Brother Amplified is screened 24/7 on DStv’s Channel 198.
