ONE of Innscor’s quick service restaurants, Nando’s Zimbabwe yesterday celebrated 20 years of existence in the country. The celebrations saw Nando’s closing all its outlets dotted across the country including its only branch in Bulawayo situated along Jason Moyo Street in the Central Business District.

“Nando’s will be closed on 1st June 2015. Our Nandocas will be celebrating 20 years of Nando’s in Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, our chickens will join them. Please come back on the 2nd of June and get our happy birthday meal; a 24-hour marinated flame-grilled quarter chicken served with generous portion of peri-chips, all washed down with an ice cold Coke,” said Nando’s in an advertorial on Sunday.

Nando’s opened its first branch in the country in Avondale in 1987.

Following its revamp in 2011, it remains one of the country’s most popular restaurants with devoted and loyal customers. At present, Nando’s has 12 branches in different parts of the country in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, and Kwekwe.

Innscor also owns quick service restaurants such as Chicken Inn, Creamy Inn, Pizza Inn, Bakers Inn, Fish Inn and Steers.

The group, which is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, also owns food outlets in several African nations and also controls National Foods Holdings Limited, a milling company.

The company also owns Spar grocery shops across Zimbabwe and Colcom Holdings Limited among others.
