Nash Bulawayo Inter-District track and field meet gets underway

THE bid to assemble Team Bulawayo for the National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash) finals has begun in earnest, with the city’s Inter-District athletics competitions getting underway at White City Stadium on Wednesday.

Five districts, Mzilikazi, Bulawayo Central, Imbizo, Khami and Reigate, are battling for supremacy in the two-day meet, with athletes aiming to secure spots in the provincial team that will represent Bulawayo at the national finals in Harare.

Bulawayo National Association of Secondary School Heads (NASH) athletics chairman, Cain Ncube, expressed satisfaction with the start of the competition, saying the event had kicked off smoothly and was showcasing promising talent.

This year’s national finals will be held in Harare.
