Nash under 14 basketball finals kick off in Bulawayo

THE Nash Under-14 basketball finals are underway at Eveline High School with the two day event having kicked-off on Friday.

A total of 18 schools are battling it out for top honors.

Hosts Eveline, Petra, St Bernards and Nkulumane are representing Bulawayo province.

Other schools taking part from other provinces are Girls High, Murambinda, Dangamvura, Empandeni, Cyrene, Nhlambabaloyi, John Tallack, Chibi, Serima, Regina Mundi, Hama, Churchill, Nhowe, Bernard Mizeki Chinhoyi High, Kutama College, Chindunduma 1 and Howard High school.

National Head in Charge of basketball Sithabile Moyo said: “We as Nash are happy to be part of the sporting family in Zimbabwe, and in the development of basketball amongst young people It is against this background that l on behalf of Nash the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education and all basketball loving public would like express our sincere gratitude to all the stakeholders of the game for their continued support.

“We shall continue to endeavor ourselves at all, in an effort to maintain these smart partnerships. We offer our heartfelt welcome to those joining us for the first time and to those who consistently have been participating in this competition. The 14 and Under event is not just a competition but the embodiment of our hopes and aspirations for the future of school basketball,” said Moyo.-@innocentskizoe
