While for gospel luminaries like Mathias Mhere life on the road outside the confines of Zimbabweas borders is a regular thing, it is not so for budding gospel artiste Nashie who is set to go on tour outside the country for the first time.
The musician, who first made his name with the hit Kuchiborani, made the conversion to gospel music in 2015, in what he termed his personal bid to win souls.
The conversion to gospel did not stop controversy from stalking the musicians however, with a feud with Cal_vin and a bid to fake his own death the highlight of a tumultuous couple of years.
Now Nashie is back, with a tour to Canada alongside Bethen Pasinawako, Sharon Manyonganise and Tamara Boyes on the cards.
The first shows of the tour, which kicks off on 24 June, will be in Edmonton before they move on to Calgary and Ontario. The promoters of the shows are Chris Jambs and Ramah services.
Nashie revealed that he was relishing the honour of being one of the headline acts in his debut tour.
a?Iam looking forward to it because it not only gives me an opportunity to shine but also allows me to represent Bulawayo to the fullest of my abilities.
a?Not only am I representing Bulawayo but I believe that I also have the whole of Zimbabwe on my shoulders because when you go on such a trip in a strange, foreign land youare not only representing yourself but the whole country as well,a? he said. . .
