A HOBHOUSE woman recently applied for a peace order against her husband’s girlfriend as she accuses her of harassing her and badmouthing her to her husband.
Constance Tarambiwa also accused the girlfriend, Tafadzwa Sarungano, of continuously visiting her place of residence.
The two feuding women recently appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mr Xavier Chipato.
Mr Chipato granted the peace order in Tarambiwa’s favour.
“Sarungano is in the habit of harassing me whenever we meet. She also harasses my child on her way to school, telling her that I am a prostitute. My child always comes back home crying due to Sarungano’s endless harassment. When I tell my husband about this, he promises to sort it out but does nothing,” said Tarambiwa.
He also told the court that Sarungano is in the habit of feeding her husband lies about her, as well as insulting her over the phone.
“A month ago, Sarungano visited my house and told me that I should forget about her leaving my husband. She also told me that my husband is no longer interested in me, adding that l am just staying at my matrimonial house for the sake of my children.
“She said I am now a spent force and that my husband is now attracted to her as she is young and hot,” said Tarambiwa.
“The other day when I met her, she called my husband and told him that I was now a mental patient, claiming that I was talking to myself. My husband called my sister to confirm if it was true as he was away from home.
“My home is on fire because of this woman. She is always badmouthing me and this is disturbing peace in my house,” said Tarambiwa.
However, Sarungano denied all the allegations and accused Tarambiwa of causing the tension between the two of them.
“Tarambiwa visits my house and knocks on my door using stones. She spits on my face and insults me, accusing me of being a husband snatcher.
“Her husband is just a workmate, although we were once involved in a relationship sometime back when they had separated following a misunderstanding. When they reconciled I decided to end the relationship with her husband in August last year, but she continues pestering me,” said Sarungano.
The peace order was granted in Tarambiwa’ favour.
Sarungano was ordered not to harass, provoke or visit Tarambiwa’s place of residence.
The court also ordered Sarungano to always keep peace with Tarambiwa.
